"Between moments of absolute snobbery to false flattery, you learn quick to trust nothing but your own heart." --Garance Doré

Elle March 2010

Don't you want to be a darling and surprise me with this? ♥ I promise you, this thick glossy thang will be worth it.

These remind me why it's okay sometimes to sleep late at night finishing schoolwork because it brings me closer to the day I finish college and earn those bucks.

Besides the shows in London, the brand offered a sweet escape--TopShop Café!

Wouldn't it be a great pick-me-up if this was commercialized? One order, please.

Did some late night photo manipulation just now. This was during a styling gig in school for our college's (Liberal Arts) Fast '09's Next Top Model event for a cause.

It was a tedious yet great experience prepping up the models alongside Neer Cartel (right to me). Hope this is not the last. And I think it was in this photoshoot that I realized the career I wanted to pursue was Fashion Creative Directing!

Fashion Week: Fendi, Anna Sui & Mulberry

For the win Fendi for the countrified utilitarian ensemble all the way. Karl Lagerfeld is a god! Personally, I love the touch of mustard, winner footwear and structured bags.

I would really like to have those shoes, please! Calling out local designers and department stores.

Anna Sui's latest collection showcases yet another blast of art, giving you a free ticket to the patterns from the American Arts and Crafts movement. Look at all that jazz! Those prints are a perfect peg for summer. Must note that down.

Ahh, me and my devotion to English fashion! The collection obviously screamed, "Alexa Chung". But what's really to love? The electric blue and orange splashed into the palette--something worth a trend.

If only it weren't 33˚ here in Manila, I'd channel these looks to school.

Simple Joys In Life

Behind all the make-up, a la mode clothes and badly-needed-to-be-repaired hair color, I too have such simple joys in life. Mind you, I'm really one shallow person!

For one is my newly de-cluttered and made over desktop. Cute eh?

Sorry for the tremendous lack of updates; hell week just got over in La Salle. Congratulations, survivors! My oh my, I can't believe 3rd term will be over in 6 weeks or so. 1 year down, 2 more to go!!!

Have you been keeping up with NY and London Fashion Week? I'll post my favorites in a while. Happy Weekend!

Beat The Meat

After months, I've finally had the motivation to work out again. As I typed on my Facebook status. "nothing is as fulfilling as sweating it all out" earlier this afternoon in my non-air-conditioned room! Thanks to the Tracy Anderson Method and 3 lbs. dumbells, I had a great one and a half hour of cardio, butt, thigh, arms and core workout.

As for further motivation, I made a collage of fitspirations from the likes of Hilary Duff's 2007 toned body (can't let go of her beach photo in the right most), Whitney Port who is fitter than ever and the sexily athletic AnnaLynne McCord (photo from Shape magazine cover).

A friend told me, school is officially over by April 18 so I hope by the time summer hits, I have achieved my most wanted body. Let's get our lazy butts moving, friends!!!

Today's Power Word

I am grateful to have a digital camera at the very least but it's beat already and I think it's time to get a new one.

Just a few days back, I was in Glorietta 4 and saw this semi-professional camera (that's what the salesman said) - a Canon PowerShot G11. He said it's got the same quality as a DSLR. So, it's either this or a Mac iPad when my family comes back. (haha!) Any insights on this gizmo?

Fashion Week: Alexa Chung for Madewell

I want every piece of this collection!!! Period. (Hello, it's Alexa Chung)

Fashion Week: Alexander Wang

Personally, I loved the velvet touch showcased in the runway! Doing that was quite risky and unexpected, but with Wang everything goes well. The way he puts together the toughness of black and the cloth's delicate flow is so admirable.

I have no definite memory of this day except for the morning we were serenaded a day after Valentine's during our Political Science class by our barkada's common boy friend from 108 (I think?) So sweet!

Pardon me for the topic jump... My dad and sister left for Dubai just yesterday and though I'm feeling sad, it's exhilarating to not have the school-at-8am-then-off-to-the-mall kind of agenda.

Besides the abundance of chocolates from Toblerone and Kinder to Guylian and Lindt, I finally got my requested goodies. I've been wearing MAC's blankety lipstick with a dash of lipgloss almost everyday (worn in outfit pic above) for the nude effect.

Another goody I got was Clinique's moisturizing gel. Definitely 5 stars!!! In just a couple of days use, my face is moisturized than ever. For those of you who are oily on most parts of your face, this is a GO.

Au revoir, 5 inches

I seriously can't believe I'm posting this photo of me; bare-faced and exhausted from a day of schooling and malling.

It has been so hectic since my dad and sister arrived hence the lack of updates. And I think the midterms are approaching next week? Oh my.

Dreaming of Red Mango original flavored frozen yogurt topped with mangoes or strawberries and mochi balls. Pure heavenly bliss!!!

Kristin Cavallari is smoking in Asos' February issue!

Never was a fan of KC since I was always Team LC but these scans serve me right.

Remembering McQueen

Vogue March 2010

PARIS — Lee Alexander McQueen, one of the most acclaimed and incendiary designers of his generation, was found dead at his London home on Thursday. He was 40.

Sources described the death as a suicide by hanging. London’s Metropolitan Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious, but a spokesman said, "We would not speculate on the cause of death before a postmortem. Next of kin have been informed, but we await formal identification.”

The disappearance of one of fashion’s brightest lights and consummate showmen will surely cast a shadow on the international collections as they get under way in New York this week. McQueen’s show, scheduled for March 9 at La Conciergerie Paris, would have been among the last of the fall season.

The London-born McQueen’s death unleashed a torrent of shock and anguish from designers, retailers and others in the fashion world. “In a world where every man and his dog is a designer, Alexander McQueen was the real deal,” said Milliner Philip Treacy, who created fantastical hats for the designer’s shows. “His talent was supersonic.”

Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad--women with substance who are on the top of their game and definitely a favorite team-up of mine ever since they first co-worked in Teen Vogue for The Hills. ♥

When is the next season of The City starting anyway???

Manic Wednesday

Rewind back to Wednesday... It's amazing how an outfit can lay low your panic mode with schoolwork!

As for this outfit, it was planned the night before--during the aforementioned Political-Science-paper-cramming. It definitely gave me a boost to carry on with the workload from that hour on until the next day. Maybe it was the scarf that I don't usually don?

Happy weekend, followers! :)

Follow Alexa Chung's Style on Vogue!

Have you heard of the hip Brit it-girl Alexa Chung who's been making noise in the fashion industry thanks to her preppy and urban panache?

You can now follow her throughout the whole month as she collaborates with Vogue to feature her everyday get-up here!
I would work out to the fullest to achieve defined abs, arms and legs if this collection were in my closet right now!

Just recently, Forever 21 launched their surprisingly different Activewear Collection for their new sport line. Here's a sneak peek.

It is a good morning and I'm feeling fashion forward. Happy manic Wednesday!

Summer is just looming around the corner! Better buckle up for the coming season's staples.
Instead of struggling with words to expound on my social, economic and political views (bleh!), wish I was just in a beaten-up, vintage car like this with some girlfriends driving up to Tagaytay. But at this point, I have no choice but to delve in my thoughts and squeeze out everything to impress my PoliSci professor. Well hello, college.
Besides MK & A being almost everyone's most-coveted fashion icons and and are such big-time moguls, did you know they get paid around $80,000 each to attend fashion shows? Wow, that is the life!!!

It would be much better if I had a cuppa Starbucks beside me while trying to write my 5-page paper for Political Science class due tomorrow. So help me, God.

Starbucks' venti hot White Chocolate Mocha is my morning fuel ♥ (except for days when I'm broke like these)

Land... Or possibly even heaven of all clothing basics - American Apparel. I wish I could go here soon. Let's pray for cash, visa and a plane ticket first.

Blog Stalking

Karla Deras' blog is always one of the first fashion blogs I visit the moment I dive into net surfing. And everytime she has a new entry, her kempt, sharp and spotless style always impresses me.
Sentimental words + delicate flowers + vintage overlay = ♥

My first college girlfriends - they may not know this but I miss us all being together from 11-1, having lunch and laughing our hearts away thanks to overtly corny jokes. But thanks to often similar classes, we still get a taste of 1st and 2nd term's fun times. you girls!
